What effect does it have on my choke tubes?Ģ. I use Remington Game Loads (1 1/8 shot, 3 1/4 dram, #8) and have only tried the TRAP FULL choke – nothing else.ġ. Right now my average is in the low 20’s at 16-22 yards with a personal best of 23. Basically I’m at the point now that I don’t know who to believe. Of course, at the range I’m hearing completely different things. The associate at Remington further explained to me that even though the tubes all say FULL, they are most comparable to a SKEET, MODIFIED, and EXTRA FULL respectively. I figured that a modified would do the trick, but I when I called Remington they informed me that this barrel is “over-board” and can only take the above mentioned chokes. Since I shoot 16’s most of the time I though that these chokes would be too tight. When it arrived I found out that it came with 3 FULL chokes (TRAP FULL, EXTRA FULL, and SUPER FULL). There were three to choose from: a field, trap or skeet barrel (each came with 3 choke tubes). I knew what I wanted: a vent-ribbed 2-bead sight with adjustable choke. I then purchased a replacement barrel from Remington. The best I could ever shoot with this was a 19. For the first 3 months of shooting, I was using the barrel that came with the gun: modified barrel with a single bead sight. I picked up in excellent condition from a pawn shop (a steal at $220). Currently I have a Remington Model 1100 12 Ga. I started shooting trap about 9 months ago at the Markham Park Range in Ft.
